If you email me and do not receive a response within 2 days, it may have been missed, please reach out again! We want to answer ALL of your questions in a timely manner.
If you reach out to me on social media, chances are, I will miss the notification. I get hundreds of notifications a day through social media. If you'd like your question to be answered in a timely manner, please use email.
Can I order a colorway dyed to order?
I'm not currently taking Dye to Order requests. I restock the shop on a regular basis with my signature colorways, if there is one you’d like to see in a shop update soon, let me know. I consistently dye sweater quantities on fingering weight.

Do you dye custom colorways?
I do not dye custom colorways, but I am always open to ideas, suggestions, and inspiration.
Can I pre-order or reserve yarn/colorways that are coming in your next update?
To make it fair to everyone, I do not reserve or allow pre-orders. All of my stock will be available during the next shop update.
Can you wind my yarn into a ball or "cake?"
I do not have a ball winding service.
How do I care for hand dyed yarn?
For best results soak in a basin of cold water for no longer than 5 minutes, with 1 teaspoon unscented wool wash. Lay flat to dry. Minimal bleeding can occur on the first few washes (especially with pinks and reds). Using a color catcher is a great way prevent any excess dye from getting on other colors in your project.
How we wash the yarn before it is shipped to you:
We use unscented Eucalan on all yarn. We rinse all the yarn twice in water to make sure the water is running clear, and then soak it in Eucalan for 5 minutes. Even with this process, minimal bleeding can occur on the first few washes (especially with pinks and reds).
The reason I recommend unscented, is some soap companies use alcohol-based scents instead of natural scents or essential oils. The alcohol bases can cause bleeding or fading of the dye. The scented wool washes I recommend are Eucalan and Soak, please follow the guidelines and care instructions.
Do you collaborate with knit or crochet designers?
I do! Please reach out to me with your ideas of what you had in mind. I certainly do not say yes to everyone, so please make sure to have a fully formed idea before reaching out to me.
I like to spread out designs and collaborations throughout the year to make sure I can dye plenty of yarn for the design release, and have enough time to dedicate to hosting/co-hosting a KAL or CAL.
I have a podcast/blog/Instagram/event coming up, will you donate yarn?
I am extremely selective on who I send yarn to, it is financially impossible to send yarn to all of you amazing podcasters/bloggers/event coordinator, even though it's tempting. I know how hard you work at what you do, but please appreciate that we also work hard at what we do. Lolodidit is a full time business supporting my family and employees.
I do not send yarn to anyone who has solicited me for giveaways. When I do giveaways or send to podcasters/bloggers/designers, it is because I have personally been inspired by those people. Please do not contact me with requests.
Can I use your photos in my podcast/blog/Instagram, etc?
I would absolutely love that! All of the photos belong to lolodidit under copyright law, please credit the photos by using my website, my Instagram name, or #lolodidit.
Will you teach me how to dye yarn?
I enjoy hearing how many of you are inspired to dye yarn from following me. It's truly humbling. However, this is my business, I have developed my own way of dyeing through trial and error and have invested a lot of time and money into this business. I hope you can appreciate that I will not train up my competition. If you do choose to go into the yarn dyeing business, though, I wish you all the success and cannot wait to see what you create.
How does your Yarn of the Month Club work?
This is a no commitment club, it is one month at a time.
On the 1st of each month, I will release the Yarn of the Month Club listing to my shop. You can choose your yarn base for the signature colorway, but the colorway itself is a complete surprise. You can also add a surprise coordinating tonal color on a Lil Lolo or Full Skein.
I ship all of the orders on the following 1st of the month. For example, if you order in January, you're purchasing February's colorway and it will ship on February 1st (or the 2nd if the 1st is a postal holiday or Sunday).
There are a limited number of skeins, so please don't wait to order. The listing will stay active until all skeins are purchased.
The theme is released on social media, my website, and my newsletter a few days before. If you'd like to see past Yarn of the Month colorways, check out my Signature Colorways section.
The Yarn of the Month Club colorway is exclusive for 3 months, then I will dye it and release the colorway to everyone else.
Please try to hold off from sharing photos of the Yarn of the Month Club until at least the 5th of the month. Many international customers do not receive theirs right away, and I know they would love the surprise too.
Do you sell wholesale?
I’m not currently offering wholesale purchases for retail stores, if this ever changes, the information will be updated here. But, I'm always open to a conversation.
